How to invest in the Metaverse

by Investoradar

The latest buzzword in the investing world has been about the Metaverse and here are some ways for investors to gain exposure to it.

The most direct and cheapest way to invest in the Metaverse is to invest in Metaverse games such as The Sandbox (SAND), Decentraland (MANA), and Axe Infinity (AXS). To purchase these company’s cryptocurrencies you can simply go onto a crypto exchange such as Binance and buy them (if you use this exclusive link to sign up on Binance now you can get a 10% rebate on all crypto trading fees). A relatively low-risk way to gain exposure through cryptocurrencies is to simply own Ethereum (ETH). As the Metaverse and NFT become more and more popular Ethereum will also be more widely used which will benefit its value.

Another way to invest in these Metaverse games is to invest in their NFTs, such as buying land in The Sandbox or Decentraland. You can buy these NFTs through platforms such as OpenSea via auction or a buy it now option. However, the downside is that a lot of the starting prices for these NFTs are quite pricy. For example, the cheapest Land for The Sandbox being listed on OpenSea is currently listed at around $3500 USD.

Besides crypto, there are a few stocks that are closely related to the Metaverse such as Meta (FB), Roblox (RBLX), and Matterport (MTTR) where each company has its own unique prospect. Meta, also widely known as Facebook is a social media platform that also owns VR equipment company Oculus. Roblox is a game that allows people to socialize and create, whereas Matterport is a company that digitizes the physical world to create virtual space through its cameras and software.

There is also a simpler way to own all Metaverse-related stocks which is through investing in the Metaverse ETF (META), the ETF owns all three stocks above and will update their holdings frequently according to the company’s development and prospect over time. The ETF charges 0.75% for the management fees but it can save investors a lot of time and work.
